The Song of the Sorcelator was a part of the Penny Arcade continuity. It spanned five comics in total.

Plot[]
Tycho is busy reading The Song of the Sorcelator, written by L. H. Franzibald, but is consistently throwing up in the process. Gabe discovers from Tycho that it is a blatant rip-off of the Epic Legends of the Hierarchs: The Elemenstor Saga, a book series written by Tycho. However, upon hearing an excerpt, Gabe shows interest in the novella. Although Tycho instinctively throws the book away, Gabe takes it, walks into the attic, and starts reading.
Meanwhile, the owner of Readiation, Mr. Valgariad, is talking to Franzibald about the convention. Unfortunatley, Valgariad reveals that Brahe will be attending the same convention, which results in Franzibald whipping the owner in anger.
Later on, Readiation begins, and Franzibald and Brahe enter the main room, discovering that several fans are there for Franzibald, while a man dressed as a nightstand is there for Tycho. As Gabe asks Franzibald for an autograph, yet gets denied, the nightstand pulls out a gun and attempts to assassinate the rival author, but Gabe jumps in front of the bullet. Tycho checks up on Gabe, but becomes infuriated when Gabe compares the situation to the Song of the Sorcelator, taking the nightstand's gun, and shooting Gabe again.
